Shaun Lapenskie M.Manip.PT (Aus.), B.Sc.PT, FCAMT, CAFCI Registered Physiotherapist Fellow, Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists Certified, Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute
Shaun graduated from the Physiotherapy Program at the University of Western Ontario in 1997 and in 2000 completed a Masters degree at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia in the area of orthopaedic physiotherapy. He has a particular interest in treatment of headaches of spinal origin as well as muscle imbalances in the low back and hip region. He is a Fellow and is currently the Vice-President of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists and is certified in Acupuncture by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.
Shaun is currently an instructor in the Health Sciences Department at Georgian College, teaching orthopeadic assessment and therapeutic exercise. He presented his graduate research in a keynote address at the World Congress on Low Back Pain in Montreal, is a peer-reviewer for the Canadian Institues of Health Research, and contributes to the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine. He is also the past editor of the Orthopaedic Division Review, an official publication of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Shaun has a particular interest in treatment of headaches of spinal origin as well as muscle imbalances in the low back and hip region. He has extensive experience working with international calibre track and field athletes, and continues to lecture to running and other athletic groups at a local level.
When not in the clinic, Shaun can be found windsurfing, skiing or mountain biking around Barrie with his wife and daughter.
