Michelle graduated from the physiotherapy program at the University of Toronto in 1991. She worked at Toronto General/Toronto Western Hospitals for three and a half years gaining knowledge and skills in many areas including orthopaedics, cardiac surgery and rehabilitation, thoracic surgery and the lung transplant program. In 1995, Michelle presented at the World Congress in Physical Therapy in Washington, DC on exercise testing of lung transplant candidates.

Since 1995, Michelle has been working in a private multidisciplinary practice in Barrie. During that time, she worked part-time in an industrial setting gaining experience in the treatment of injured workers.

In 2000, Michelle received a post-graduate Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. She has experience in all areas of orthopaedics, with a special interest in spinal disorders and the shoulder. She is certified in acupuncture by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.
